General Information:    

Certified Health Care Aide Program  (19 Weeks in duration** – Holidays may extend course to 21 Weeks)

Semi Full Time instructor led program

Theory and Lab practice 

– 12 Weeks (3 days per week) –

Tuesday – Thursday (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)

Clinical Practicum (On Site)

– 7 Weeks (4 days per week) –

Tuesday – Friday ( Full Daytime Shifts)

4. Providing Client Care and Comfort

  • Client Grooming and Personal Hygiene
  • Bathing the Client
  • Assist with Elimination
  • Bed Making
  • Assist with Client Mobility
  • Positions, Transfers, and Lifts
  • Assisting at Mealtime

5. Meeting Complex Care Needs

  • Range of Motion
  • Assisting with Wound Care
  • Assisting with Naso-gastric, Gastrostomy and Tube Feeds
  • Assist with Urinary Catheters and Drainage Systems
  • Assist with Ostomy Care
  • Measuring Vital Signs, Pain, Height and Weight
  • Assisting with Specimen Collection
  • Assisting with Respiratory Care and Oral Suctioning

6. Assisting with Medication Delivery

7. Special Activities for Diverse Clients
